Leek & Associates, PLLC (L&A) was formed in 2001 as a professional association of certified public accounting firms whose principals have these personal attributes:
Our mission is to provide high quality, efficient and responsive professional services to businesses non-profit organizations and individuals, principally in Arkansas. L&A is a market-driven company and the professional services we provide include personal and business financial and management consulting, accounting, auditing and tax services. The focus of our services is to help our clients identify and achieve their goals. Within the public accounting profession L&A is an innovator in the marketing of our services and in our management structure and policies. We adhere to the highest standards of professional practice and are constantly attuned to new services that we can offer to our clients and prospective clients.
SERVICE
Paramount in the conduct of any client relationship is the performance of a service. Good client service requires an affirmative response to all of these questions: Have we met the client's needs? Have we properly addressed the task, the problem or the concern? Have we been responsive to the client's requests? Have we completed our task in the most timely and cost-efficient manner possible? Is our fee commensurate with the benefit to the client?

L&A has implemented and trained all our people in the process of Total Quality Management (TQM). This process includes these attributes:

PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Our primary product is our people. Developing our associates through careful acquiring, training and retaining qualified professional people is a top priority. We also devote a substantial amount of our resources to technological support of their activities. Our tax and accounting libraries are extensive and state-of-the-art. We subscribe to major library services and have available for research the latest discussions and presentations on the complicated issues facing business today. Our computer system includes a state-of-the-art network of integrated communications and processing capability. Our staff utilizes laptop computers when working in clients' offices. Our computer software makes available the latest technological tools for evaluating, planning and reporting. A significant portion of our annual budget is spent in expanding and maintaining these resource tools.
As computer applications proliferate, our internal proficiency has enabled us to be a leader to our clients as well. Our expertise in computers and software applications enables us to assist in the selection and installation of accounting systems for our clients.
The market in which we operate is highly competitive and representative of the overall economy of our community. The abilities of our staff have enabled us to adapt to our economic and competitive situation and remain a viable accounting firm.
L&A is more than owners and associates. It is team of highly skilled professionals who provide a broad range of technical and specialized accounting, tax and consulting services to the number one group of people in Arkansas, our clients.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Providing clients with the highest possible technical expertise is achieved through a continuing program of attracting exceptional people of our firm, developing those individuals to the utmost of their capabilities, and providing an environment that fosters the professional and judgmental growth of our staff. A candidate for employment with our firm must demonstrate high academic achievement and participation in extracurricular activities that indicate a propensity to participate in the business and professional community.
L&A provides all CPA's with 40 hours per year of formalized professional education, and every person on our staff participates in organized education courses. These educational activities include formal seminars and educational meetings conducted within the firm, educational courses sponsored by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and other professional, business and trade organizations. We continue to believe that the greatest education and training comes from the close supervision and instruction by our more experienced staff. We encourage an environment that facilitates the free interchange of questions, suggestions, sharing of experiences and experimentation.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
The accounting profession has high standards of professional conduct. In our daily professional, business and community life, we strive to achieve those standards of independence, integrity and objectivity. Our many years of experience have confirmed without any doubt that the long-range benefits of the strict adherence to these standards far outweighs any benefit of the slightest deviation from those standards.
In our firm we accept the experience level of our associates and their stage in the development process. At no time do we permit or accept unprofessional conduct whether in fact or in appearance.

Our firm provides the traditional services offered by certified public accounting firms as well as new services befitting a dynamic business climate. Our services are currently provided to clients in many industries requiring special expertise and good knowledge of business practices within those unique businesses. Examples are:
Clients in these industries range from small individual
proprietorships to corporate organizations doing business throughout the United
States. The scope of our services for a particular client may range from numerous
auditing, tax and consulting activities to simply serving as a resource center
and providing assistance as requested.
HOW WE BILL FOR SERVICES
The cost of our services is dependent upon the amount of time required to do the task assigned and the experience level of the professional assigned to the task. Our standard hourly rates are competitive with other firms in our area. In addition to payment for our fee, it is our practice to be reimbursed for out-of-pocket costs we incur in travel expenses, photocopying and reproduction costs, outside data processing costs, and others. We submit billings for services periodically on relatively long engagements and upon completion of the work on shorter engagements. The billings are payable upon receipt by the client.
L&A is cost conscious and we strive to have work performed at the lowest level of staff as is efficiently possible. As an example, account analysis activity is generally assigned to a staff accountant while the services of a shareholder or manager may be required to perform sophisticated audit or tax planning activities. We also give the client every opportunity to minimize our time by asking them to prepare and/or provide required information whenever possible.
Because of the high experience level of our staff, the
real cost of our services may be significantly less than would otherwise be
incurred by the client.
